Applying Sandy's skill and imagination to art glass is a passion which came later in life. Before retiring from a career in the medical laboratory, she became interested in making garden stepping stones with glass designs. Sandy gained skill in cutting and fitting glass to form a picture. Other projects included casting leaves and doing "leaded" glass items; always taking inspiration from garden flowers, shapes, and colors.
After retirement, Sandy took her first class in glass fusing. WOW! Love at first try..thanks Stacy!
Since that small start, Sandy has studied technique and process with phenomenal teachers, Patsy Gray's four day fusing class led Sandy to invest in kilns, a lap wheel, and combing supplies. Michael Dupille's three day class in fritography opened another vista. Stan at Covenant Art Glass is a constant teacher.
Sandy lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband, three children, and four grandchildren. She enjoys a passion for gardening for a change of pace.
