"BLUE/GREEN BOWL"
Sandy uses a technique called 'pot melt' in many pieces. Pick the colors you want, Sandy will put them in a bisque bowl with holes in the bottom. Turn the kiln to 1600 degrees, fire for enough time to melt the glass thru the holes, cool for hours. The stainless steel mold will have formed the glass into a circle. The circle must be polished. In the kiln, it is then melted onto two pieces of glass. Then Sandy usually slumps it into a bowl or plate. More expensive: usually $80 or more.
"ORANGE COMBING"
Using a small kiln, Sandy melts the colors you want (1800 degrees) then uses some thing called a comb. The glass is manipulated into patterns (random). When she is satisfied with the pattern, cooled for hours, polished and fused onto two more pieces of glass. This particular piece is flat, although it could be slumped. This orange piece includes the stand and sells for $85.
"12's COASTERS"
Sandy makes a variety of "Seahawks" pieces to celebrate her home Football Team. None are done copying a copyright. There are colored coasters, key chains, magnets and plates. Many have a 12, which is 'just a number'; some say 'go hawks', some are just blue/green plates. Magnets: $5. Key chains: $7.50. Coasters: $8.00. Plates: up to $50.
